Finnish Sauna (Group Sessions)
Step into the heat of our traditional high-temperature sauna
Our Finnish sauna uses intense dry heat to help your body naturally detoxify, relax muscles, and improve cardiovascular function. As the heat penetrates the body, stress melts away while circulation increases — leaving you feeling lighter, calmer, and fully refreshed.
What is a Finnish Sauna?
A Finnish sauna is a traditional heat therapy originating from Finland, where a wood-lined room is heated to high temperatures using a heater and hot stones. The dry heat encourages the body to sweat, helping relax muscles, improve circulation, and promote deep relaxation. Water can be poured over the heated stones to create steam, briefly increasing humidity and intensifying the heat experience.
For centuries, Finnish sauna bathing has been used as a simple yet powerful ritual to unwind, support recovery, and enhance overall wellbeing. Today, it remains a popular wellness practice often paired with cold plunges to stimulate circulation and leave the body feeling refreshed and revitalised.
How Finnish Sauna Works
A Finnish sauna uses a high-temperature heater and heated stones to warm the air inside a wooden sauna room to around 70–100°C. As the temperature rises, your body naturally begins to sweat — helping regulate body temperature while stimulating circulation and relaxing the muscles.
Water can be poured over the hot stones to create a burst of steam, increasing humidity and intensifying the heat experience. This process helps open pores, ease tension, and encourage the body’s natural recovery response.
Regular sauna sessions are widely used to support relaxation, improve circulation, promote muscle recovery, and reduce stress, making Finnish sauna therapy a popular wellness practice in modern recovery spaces and wellness centres.
Benefits of a Traditional Finnish Sauna
Regular Finnish sauna sessions offer a range of physical and mental wellness benefits. The high heat encourages the body to relax, sweat, and naturally support recovery.
Improved Circulation
The intense heat increases heart rate and stimulates blood flow, helping deliver oxygen and nutrients throughout the body.
Muscle Relaxation and Recovery
Heat helps loosen tight muscles, reduce soreness, and support recovery after exercise or physical activity.
Stress Reduction and Deep Relaxation
The warm, quiet environment encourages the body to relax, helping lower stress levels and calm the mind.
Skin Cleansing
Sweating helps open pores and remove impurities from the skin, leaving it feeling refreshed and revitalised.
Cardiovascular Support
Sauna bathing slightly elevates heart rate, which may support cardiovascular health by mimicking some of the effects of light exercise.
Better Sleep and Overall Wellbeing
Many people report improved sleep quality and a greater sense of wellbeing after regular sauna sessions.
At Wellness Social Club, the Traditional Finnish Sauna is included in our Wet Recovery experience, often paired with cold plunge therapy to further boost circulation and recovery.

Infrared Sauna vs Traditional Sauna
Traditional Saunas
Heat the air inside the room
Temperatures typically reach 80–100°C
Can feel very intense for beginners
Infrared Saunas
Use infrared light to warm the body directly
Lower operating temperatures around 40–60°C
Often more comfortable for longer sessions
Because the heat penetrates more deeply into the body, many people find infrared saunas easier to tolerate while still producing a deep sweat.
This makes infrared sauna sessions a popular option for relaxation, recovery, and regular wellness routines.
